The Most Common Pet Transfer Scenarios

The most-requested pet transfer is the "heading to a kennel before a holiday" pattern. Family is heading on a trip and needs to drop the dog at a Sydney boarding kennel before continuing to the airport. We can run a single trip that includes the kennel drop-off as a stop on the way to the airport — one fixed fare, two destinations.

The reverse pattern is also common: family returns from holiday, lands at Sydney Airport, needs to collect the dog from the kennel before going home. Same arrangement — single trip, kennel stop, home delivery. Standard airport transfers can be combined with the pet pickup at no significant extra cost beyond the standard fare adjustment for the kennel detour.

Pets Arriving at Sydney Airport (Cargo)

For pets arriving on international or interstate flights as cargo (Sydney Airport doesn't allow pets in passenger cabins for most domestic flights, with some exceptions for service animals), the pet is collected from the airport's pet cargo facility (typically PetAir or Jetpets handling). Once the owner has cleared customs and the pet has cleared quarantine, both meet at the cargo facility. Ram's coordinates this: we collect the owner from the passenger terminal, run to the cargo facility, wait while pet is collected, then drive everyone home. The pet is typically anxious after a long flight and quarantine, and a calm, pet-experienced driver makes a real difference.

Service Animals and Assistance Dogs

Service animals (guide dogs, hearing dogs, assistance dogs, mobility dogs) are welcomed at no extra charge with no restraint requirement, per Australian disability services regulations. The dog sits at the owner's feet during the journey. We do not require any documentation but appreciate advance notice so we can allocate a driver familiar with service animals.

Hygiene Standards and Cleaning Protocol

For pet-friendly transfers, vehicles are cleaned to a different standard than corporate or hotel transfers. After every pet trip, the vehicle is thoroughly vacuumed, surfaces wiped down, and any pet hair removed. The $20 cleaning surcharge for medium-large pets covers this additional cleaning time. For passengers with severe pet allergies who happen to book a vehicle that recently carried a pet, please advise at booking and we'll allocate a vehicle that has not had recent pet bookings.
