Golf bags are typically 1.2–1.4m long and do not fit in an SUV boot safely. An SUV or people mover is required for a golf bag plus standard luggage. Always mention golf bags when booking — failing to do so may mean your bag cannot be loaded.

Cruise passengers carry significantly more luggage than typical airport travellers. Here's what we know from years of cruise terminal transfers.

Why Cruise Luggage Is Different

The average airline passenger travels with 1–2 bags. The average cruise passenger travels with 2–3 large bags each — and often more on longer voyages. A couple heading to OPT Circular Quay for a 14-day Pacific cruise might have 5–6 large suitcases between them.

This is why we always recommend an SUV or people mover for 2 or more cruise passengers. An SUV is appropriate only if you're a solo traveller or a couple with minimal luggage.

Our recommendation for couples: Book an SUV. The extra capacity means no squeezing bags in, no leaving something behind, and no extra stress on embarkation morning.

Terminal Luggage Porters

Both OPT at Circular Quay and White Bay Cruise Terminal have luggage handlers on embarkation days. Your driver will unload your bags at the kerb — the terminal's own porter team takes over from there. You don't need to carry anything from our vehicle to the check-in desk.
